You’ve seen all the LipDub videos on SVN-TV and YouTube, now it’s your turn to share the spotlight.
If you are a school in the Greater Chicago-land area, (Cook, Dupage, Lake, McHenry, DeKalb, Kane, Kendal, Will, Grundy, and in Indiana: lake Porter, Newton or Jasper counties) create your own LipDub to win a WGN Morning News broadcast from your school. Any High School or College is eligible to enter.
Rules are simple:
You must get approval for the song and project from your school administration;
LipDub must be one continuous take;
Must be taped in the school or on school grounds;
LipSync to any song as approved by the school;
Use as many students from your school as you can. Faculty and administrators are allowed to appear in the video; and
HAVE FUN!
Be creative: We have all seen the vids of walking through the halls and up and down stairs. Come up with something that will dazzle the judges and get us up and movin around the office. Your only editing techniques allowed in a LipDub are adding the final soundtrack, speeding up or slowing down the video, blurring and color correction to color or black and white.
Make sure you put in an opening and credit roll at the end. No other video graphics are allowed within the continuous take.
Live action? Of course! That’s what makes the LipDub so fun and brings the school together in this fun project. No pre-recorded material should be used.
All entries will also be included in the upcoming SVN LipDub competition to be held later this year. So get busy! It’s a big project and will bring LOTS of visibility to your TV Production class or department and get many of your students involved during the taping.
All the info for the WGN contest can be found at http://www.wgntv.com/lipdub but the deadline is October 31st, 2010, and remember: This is a Chicago area competition only.
We would gladly reciprocate after our deadline to publicize on our Lip Dub page any national contest you are having.
